Assessment Tool

If you are feeling dry eye symptoms, it’s time to take an assessment tool to discover how severe your dry eye symptoms are and determine the potential root cause. We utilized the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) Questionnaire, which has 12-item questions with three categories relating to dry eye: ocular symptoms, vision-related function, and environmental triggers.

Ocular Surface Disease Index OSDI

Scoring:

  • 12 or below points: You have no dry eyes.

  • 13 to 22 points: You have mild dry eyes. You need to change lifestyle and over-the-counter (OTC) treatments might be sufficient.

  • 23 to 32 points: You have moderate dry eyes. Consult with professional and more advanced treatment.

  • 33 above points: You have severe dry eyes. You must seek an eye care professional to help you manage your symptoms.
